Airberlin vil genåbne topbonus og din status kan fortsat bruges

I en mail til medlemmerne af Airberlins bonusprogram topbonus, skriver de at medlemskabet fortsætter på trods af Airberlins betalingsstandsning. Det er også stadig muligt at udnytte fordelene hos One World og andre partnere, hvis man har status.

Blandt medlemmerne af topbonus har der længe været frygt for, at optjente point er spildt. Topbonus er et selvstændigt selskab, så selv om et eller flere selskaber køber Airberlin, så er de ikke forpligtet til at overtage topbonus, så derfor er dagens mail en god nyhed for medlemmerne.

I mailen står der, at man vil genåbne topbonus i begyndelsen af november i år. I mellemtiden kan man ikke bruge miles, men optjente miles i mellemtiden, vil blive krediteret, når programmet genåbner.

Det er stadig muligt at tjekke sin konto online og få adgang telefonisk.

While collecting and redeeming miles continues to be suspended because of airberlin’s insolvency application, please be informed that the topbonus programme continues to hold.

  • Your membership continues.
  • Access to the topbonus miles account continues to be open both online and via the telephone; you can check your miles, for instance, and access your profile.
  • Customer service can be reached via telephone and e-mail as usual.
  • airberlin and the partner airlines continue to grant benefits related to your status (e.g. access to lounges, priority services, free seat reservations etc.), and expiring Status Cards are renewed – taking into account the status miles collected.
  • The airberlin VISA Card remains fully valid and can still be used.

Our credit card partner, Landesbank Berlin, has already informed all VISA Card holders about a highly attractive offer of 5% cashback on card revenue in September.

Please also note:

You can still use your topbonus Card at all topbonus partners. All partners continue to report to us the miles you are collecting by using your card. As soon as the collection of miles will be reopened in the programme, for example for specific partners, they will therefore be credited to your miles account again. Ideally this means that despite the insolvency proceedings you will not lose any of your miles at all.

We will reopen the mileage credits in the programme as soon as we have found a viable way of being able to offer redemption options to you again. We will obviously inform you promptly as soon as the programme will have been reopened. As collecting and redeeming presuppose each other, we can only reopen mileage credits as soon as we can also offer you options of redeeming them.

Together with the preliminary insolvency administrator we are currently working intensively on ways of reopening miles redemption and crediting of miles. At the same time, we are working on a viable future concept for topbonus.

As long as the insolvency proceedings have not been opened, which is expected to start at the beginning of November 2017, we kindly ask you to refrain from making any claims. We will, of course, keep you informed about our further course.
