When entering new markets where the brand is relatively unknown, launch fares are important in order to boost company awareness. Norwegian operated 99.7 percent of its scheduled flights in September, whereof 86.8 percent departed on time. Norwegian took delivery of two brand new Boeing 737-800 aircraft in September. The company will introduce a total of 14 Boeing 737-800s and four Boeing 787 Dreamliners to its fleet in 2014. Norwegian’s fleet is among the most modern and environmentally friendly in Europe.
